Concluding Cynopsis Participation in the UK FinTech Week 2019


Chye Kit, Avere and Jack at the Innovate Finance Global Summit and have caught up with one of the members from FinTechSpace.

The UK FinTech Week (UKFW) returns again this year, and we are delighted that Cynopsis team in Singapore and UK participated in the week-long event from 29 April to 3 May as part of the 5-day trade mission organised by Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) and Enterprise Singapore (ESG). The series of program highlights had allowed us to gain and exchange insights with fellow industry experts and leaders on topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Regulatory Technology (RegTech) and Financial Inclusion.

Innovate Finance Global Summit (IFGS)

Gathering together more than 2000 industry leaders and FinTech stakeholders globally, the global FinTech conference was a great opportunity for the Cynopsis team to showcase and exhibit our RegTech solutions. In addition to the exhibition, the program also provided opportunities for our team to connect with other leaders and experts and share their deep regulatory expertise and knowledge.

Chye Kit was invited by the FinTechSpace to pitch about Cynopsis Solutions.

DeepTech Deep Dive: Opportunities in Singapore and Southeast Asia

As part of the UK FinTech Week 2019, Cynopsis Solutions’ CEO and Co-founder, Chionh Chye Kit, attended the DeepTech Deep Dive: Opportunities in Singapore and Southeast Asia on 30 April. Jointly organised by Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and Prudential, the program provided a platform to discuss trends and opportunities at the cross-section of Southeast Asia’s FinTech and DeepTech ecosystems.

In addition to a panel where industry experts had gathered together to share how AI products are evolving and being adopted by the region’s financial services sector, the group discussion that was led by Prudential and Cynopsis, alongside with other Singapore-based FinTech firms, was also another program highlight. Representing Cynopsis, Chye Kit took the opportunity to share his expertise and insights with the audience.

Edinburgh FinTech Day

Following Chye Kit’s group discussion session at the DeepTech Deep Dive: Opportunities in Singapore and Southeast Asia, Avere Hill, Cynopsis’ CEO and Co-founder (EMEA) was invited to attend the Edinburgh FinTech Day on 2 May. Jointly hosted by FinTech Scotland and Scottish Development International (SDI), the event showcased the Scottish Financial Technology (FinTech) Ecosystem and demonstrated how Scotland is serving as a base for FinTech companies that are expanding into the UK market.

Over the years, Scotland has grown to become one of Europe’s leading financial centres and has developed into a growing global FinTech hub. It is also now home to many FinTech firms spanning the full spectrum of financial technologies from payment to Blockchain, from open banking to Regulatory Technology (RegTech).

The one-day event gathered audiences from the Scottish FinTech community and visiting firms, providing a platform for the audience to gain further insights into two of the world’s leading FinTech ecosystems – Singapore and Hong Kong. Speaking at the panel session, Avere took the opportunity to discuss the Singapore FinTech Ecosystem and share with the audience his views and perspectives on Singapore’s FinTech landscape. In light of the SG-UK partnership established just last year, Avere has also mentioned how the partnership will help foster and increase collaboration as well as learning opportunities between the two countries going forward.

Singapore-United Kingdom (SG-UK) Partnership

The SG-UK Partnership for the Future campaign builds on both Singapore and UK historical links by celebrating the two nations’ shared achievements and looks to the future through the launch of new collaborative initiatives. It aims to solidify and expand existing links while creating new opportunities for cooperation in the years to come.

Joining in the efforts of the SG-UK Partnership for the Future campaign, Cynopsis is proud to be part of Enterprise Singapore's trade delegation to the UK to attend the UK FinTech Week 2019, in an effort to promote a digital economy between the two nations.

Avere sharing about Singapore FinTech ecosystem and highlighted the importance of SG-UK Partnership at IFGS.

Once again, we would like to extend our appreciation to the event organisers for having us at the event and given us the opportunity to be part of the panel discussions, enabling us to showcase our identity and products and widen our network in the UK market.
