We are happy to announce the successful conclusion of the International Compliance Association’s 2nd APAC Conference, which took place on 16-17 October 2019 in Singapore.
This year we had the pleasure of sponsoring, exhibiting and speaking at what turned out to be a top-level compliance event that welcomed a number of deeply knowledgeable experts and facilitated quality discussions aimed towards the future of the compliance landscape and the challenges it faces with the rapid development of new technologies.
Among the experts was our CEO and Co-Founder - Chionh Chye Kit, who, on the first day, held a breakout session on the subject of “The Infinite Possibilities of RegTech” during which he spoke about the different horizons to explore the possibilities of RegTech amongst different jurisdictions, industry sectors and regions.
During the breakout session, he elaborated on the applications of RegTech in the compliance space of the different industry sectors and regions and how it helps businesses of different scales, nature and jurisdictions to enhance efficiency in their compliance workflow.
On October 17, Chye Kit joined a panel session titled “RegTech: Friend or Foe? What's next in tech and what would be the impact on compliance?” where he and other compliance experts discussed the future challenges for the compliance professional in the ever-evolving tech space.
Chye Kit also shared more about Cynopsis Solutions and how our KYC/AML solutions have helped the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) to stay compliant to the ever-stringent regulatory requirements. During the Q&A session, Chye Kit also discussed why firms should be more concerned about the cost of non-compliance (monetary fines) over the cost of compliance. Hence, he emphasised on investing in a trusted RegTech solution that not only help them stay ahead of the regulatory curve, while they focus on their core businesses.
