Day 2 - IFCTF Conference in Malaysia


Cynopsis started Day 2 at the 9th International Financial Crime and Terrorism Financing Conference with our co-founder, Chye Kit speaking on a Plenary Session: What FinTech and Faster Payments Mean To AML Compliance?

It is an honour to speak alongside Encik Aznan Abdul Aziz, Director, Financial Services Development Department, Bank Negara Malaysia and Mr. Mark Smalley, Co-Founder and CEO of Neuroware.io in a panel well moderated by Mr. Jay Jhaveri, Head of Asia, Captis Intelligence.

We shared with a 800-strong audience comprising of bankers, money services providers, compliance officers, risk officers and auditors etc. about RegTech, its applications and features.

Mr. Smalley gave a crystal clear 12-minute dump down version of blockchain 101 and how financial services sector can leverage off blockchain technologies to stay ahead of regulatory requirements.

We also heard from Dr. Jonathan Brewer, Former Member of UN Panel on Iran and Dr. Gordon Hook, Executive Secretary, Asia Pacific Group on Money Laundering about updates and implications for United Nation sanction programs and practical steps financial institutions can take to ensure compliance with UN sanction programs and FATF Recommendation 7 regarding sanction on proliferation.

During the 2 day event, we met many prospective clients who have shown a great deal of interest in our products. We had fun marketing alongside our partner, Dow Jones too.
